The annual Erotic Ball of Houston celebrates sexual expression and breaks stereotypes. The event was held over the weekend at Clé Day and Night Club in downtown. It featured the male exotic dancers of La Bare, adult film stars, and a lingerie fashion show. There was also a live demonstration of shibari ropes on a suspended model, a belly dancer, a vampire mermaid in a martini glass, and instead of riding a mechanical bull, patrons could ride a giant mechanical penis. Various vendors sold playful items that catered to a variety of fetishes and curiosities. I added to the atmosphere by performing on my lollipop dressed in a lacy, black costume with red wings. The night was a total judgement-free zone in a fun and safe environment. The drizzly weather was the only part of the night that was a disappointment. I hope to be invited back next year!
