Lyra at Lumen Lounge (say 3 times fast!)

They say New York is the city that never sleeps.  But Houston certainly isn’t going to bed early even on weeknights.  Lumen Lounge has been a part of the nightlife scene for years and even on a Tuesday you can find a sexy crowd having a good time.  This particular Tuesday was owner, Joe Arbeely’s birthday celebration.  I performed on my lyra above the packed house.  Everyone was dressed to impress and there was plenty of complimentary food to go around.  I love this club for the location.  It’s outside of the insanity of the downtown scene where parking and traffic can be hectic to navigate.  It also has the right mix of lounge chill and dance club.  Joe is a veteran of Houston entertainment and I was thrilled to perform for his birthday.

Flying above the Freeway

Houston, Texas is one of the fastest growing cities the country and will soon surpass Chicago as the third most populous.  So of course there is a huge demand for new housing.  Encore Montrose is a beautiful new building in the trendy Montrose area which has an unusual feature… An infinity pool overlooking one of the busiest freeways in the city!

For their grand opening that’s exactly where I placed my lollipop lyra.  I could see all 10 lanes of traffic during the weekday rush.  The event was so much fun.  There was food, champagne, live music, and of course an aerialist.  I absolutely loved the staff who were so kind when helping me setup everything.  They also sent me home with a handful of cookies when it was all over.

Rocking with Backspace at White Oak Music Hall to Benefit OpHeart

An adorable group of kids basically parked in front of me for the whole night. They were the sweetest!

I had a super fun weekend performing my lollipop lyra at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston.  Backspace headlined the night by playing a 26 song set; one song for every letter of the alphabet.  The band is made up of business professionals who dedicate themselves to serving the community.  The concert raised money for OpHeart, an amazing organization that aims to help children born with life-threatening heart defects no matter the income level of the parents.  There was a great crowd of all ages that came out to support a wonderful cause.  Houston is known for having a strong community connection and this night definitely showed that spirit.  (Special thanks to Knockout Entertainment for bringing me on board!)

It was a full house at White Oak Music Hall
